Rest In Peace Yohan Serfaty

I was shocked to learn of this talented designer’s passing late last week. It truly is a loss to the world of fashion and design as Yohan has lost his battle to cancer.

Personally I am saddened by this loss not only because I respected and admired him as a designer but as a visionary. Yohan had a unique way of presenting his work that seemed to create such a harmony between the models and the clothing while creating a unique environment to absorb this all.

This was especially true in his installations which I always enjoyed above all else. The fusion of sculptural art and fashion work perfectly together to communicate a feeling to the audience.

Y. Project by Yohan Serfaty FW13

I’ve done bits of coverage on this brand in the past as I quite like a lot of what they do and this season is no exception. Although not as aggressive as I would typically like there are certainly some pieces that fit the bill. As seen above the leather in this collection is absolutely amazing. It reminds me of Boris’ in some ways but less ragged looking. I even approve of the color use through the collection as it all seems to flow together rather well and really looks like they took time in creating those shades and tones.
